Advent Health 400:

Tyler Reddick went full send on the final lap of Sunday's Advent Health 400 at Kansas Speedway to steal the win from Kyle Larson in overtime. It was Reddick's fifth win of the 2026 season in the first nine starts - a mark not hit since Dale Earnhardt achieved it in 1987 when he went on to win the NASCAR Cup Series Championship. The win was also the second win at Kansas for Reddick and continued 23XI Racing's grip on the heartland speedway since the inception of the Gen-7 car.

The race was rather mundane until lap 266. I wouldn't say it was a bad race, but it definitely did not live up to the hype of recent Kansas races, and it wasn't the ass-kicking snoozefest like Larson's dominant win at the Spring Kansas race last year. Kansas is still a good track, and Goodyear brought a good tire. Kansas, with its multiple grooves, allows drivers to move around to find grip, speed, and their way around the competition. The Goodyear tire also brought a fair amount of wear, causing drivers to have to manhandle their cars late in a tire run, allowing them to find speed all around the track, and introducing pit strategy games for crew chiefs and drivers to find the perfect strategy to make gains. The race had little action up front for most of the day and only one "natural" caution, which unfortunately came as the leaders were mere feet away from taking the white flag. That late caution set up overtime, a more pit-strategy, and a mad dash for the win. The downfall of the late caution (aside from Denny Hamlin and his fans feeling devastated) was that it robbed us of a final lap battle between Reddick and Hamlin, who both had been duking it out for about 20 laps for the win. It did, however, present us the chaos that is NASCAR overtime as the win looked like it could go to about five different drivers over the last three miles. And it was Tyler Reddick who, in position to win as he has been most of the year, drove his rear end off and roared around Kyle Larson on the last lap to snag his fifth win of the year and keep his historic start going strong nine races into the season.

Next up, NASCAR heads to Talladega Superspeedway with the NASCAR Cup Series and the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series. The Craftsman Truck Series enjoys another weekend away from the track. The O'Reilly Series kicks off the weekend on Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m. EST on The CW with the Ag-Pro 300. The Cup Series headlines the weekend on Sunday at 3 p.m. EST on FOX with the Jack Link's 500.
