Bass Pro Shops Night Race:
Christopher Bell won the 2025 Bass Pro Shops Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway on Saturday night. The win was Bell's fourth points win of the 2025 campaign and his first trip to victory lane since the All-Star race in May. It was also his first win on the concrete at Bristol in the Cup Series. He looks to keep up his winning ways this weekend at a track he is wildly successful at, New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
This Bristol race delivered! It was one of the best Bristol races in many years, right up there with the 2024 Spring race. It truly felt like old school Bristol with cars stuck to the bottom, comers and goers, tire wear, bump and runs, and a fair amount of racing incidents that caused cautions. Thus, allowing cars to get stacked back up for restarts that were super intense because of cars trying to get to the bottom and the varying pit strategies. At times throughout the race, multiple drivers were in position to win, with some (namely Ty Gibbs, Carson Hocevar, and Zane Smith) in position to capture their first Cup Series victory. We also had tension around the playoff cutoff line with Chase Elliott having a bad day after getting wrecked trying to get back in line, and Alex Bowman strongly in contention for the win in the later portions of the race. Then Austin Cindric had a brake fire that put him multiple laps down and in danger of falling out of the top 12 in points. A late race caution intensified the finish with multiple pit strategies at play and two young drivers (who do not get along) vying for their first win. But as things would have it, Christopher Bell on fresher tires and Zane Smith shoving up the track, opening the bottom lane for him, allowed him to sneak by and snag the lead with a few laps remaining. Brad Keselowski did make a late charge and tried his hardest to move Bell out of the way, but it wasn't enough and the 20 car cruised to victory lane.
Next up we head to New Hampshire Motor Speedway with the Craftsman Truck Series and the Cup Series. The Xfinity Series will have the weekend off before returning to action at Kansas Speedway. The Truck Series will kick off the weekend on at 12 p.m. EST on FS1 Saturday with the Team EJP 175. The Cup Series takes to the track on Sunday afternoon at at 2 p.m. EST on USA with the Mobil 301.
